POST GRADUATE STUDIES

Hi all!

It is very difficult for me to plan what I will do after graduating, because I study psychology and I have not yet decided which specialty of my career I will choose. However, currently the area that I enjoy studying the most is that of educational psychology, and being able to specialize in it later in my career is an idea that I really like. Although I am open to explore all the branches that psychology has, such as Legal Psychology and Community Psychology (both of which have also attracted my attention), I imagine myself practicing my profession in schools and I am excited to be able to do so. This is because the subject of education in Chile, its dynamics, training systems and schemes, inequality within the educational system and the logics that operate in it, have always interested me a lot. Furthermore, as a future psychologist, I aspire to be able to get involved with the communities in a closer and more integrated way
and not within the clinical framework.

Another idea that I have considered is to study something related to Differential Education in the future. I would really like as a future professional, to be able to acquire the pedagogical skills necessary to respond to the special educational needs of girls, boys and young people with communication and language disorders or different intellectual capacities, in order to help them achieve a full adult life and active. Referring again to the educational system, it is very important to pay attention to the diversity and different capacities of students, to reduce exclusion gaps in society, for example.

That's it! Thank you for reading!

About the video “The scientific power of meditation”

This is a very useful video for those who are interested in knowing the multiple benefits of meditation, the explanation, as well as being creative, is very graphic and objective, so all the information is very clear. The fact that the video includes drawings and different colors helps to keep the attention throughout the video.

I have never meditated, I think because I have never tried to learn to do it, I think that clearing the mind in that way is really difficult to achieve. Although, after seeing that it works for so many things, especially because it improves memory and helps sleep, maybe I'll try from now on.

Meditation, as exposed in the video, helps lower stress and anxiety levels, very frequent emotions in a pandemic context like the current one. However, despite the circumstances we are going through, these last few days I have felt calm and resolved, I trust that after the end of winter the situation will improve and we can resume some activities. My only concern is that my mother can catch something before that happens, since there are certain times when it is inevitable to leave home, but I always try to stay positive!

On the other hand, personally, online classes have worked quite well for me, I have been able to perform with my academic responsibilities even more than during face-to-face classes. Studying from home I save the hours of travel to get to university and then return, I get much less tired, this allows me to have more time to study, clean up at home and other activities for which I did not have time before. I was also able to increase my sleep hours, which is very beneficial for health.

For this reason, when English classes begin, I feel more encouraged to carry out the activities. The difference in the academic load of the field is also noticeable, which has been much lighter during this semester, which has made it much more bearable in the current context.

Well, that's it for today, i hope you're safe

See you soon!

In love with Italy

Hello everyone!

My name is Magdalena and I would love to visit Italy, I think it is a beautiful country with a very interesting history. Also Italian is my favorite language in the world and I hope to learn it very soon.

One of the places I would like to visit is the Roman Colosseum, which is an amphitheater from the time of the Roman Empire, which is almost 2000 years old. The colosseum is the main symbol of Rome.

Although I would love to visit Italy very soon, it would be a great dream to live in that country in a few more years, after finishing my studies, learning the language and having enough money.

Specifically I would like to live in some coastal town, like the Cefalu town, in Sicily, for its beautiful fishing port; or also in Riomaggiore, a town in northern Italy, which is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is characterized by its colorful houses very close to the sea.

I hope you liked it, Bye!

Blog Session 3: My favorite piece of technology

My favorite piece of technology in the world is the headphones!

Resultado de imagen para audífonos"It is very important for me to always have them with me, I always keep them in my backpack or pockets before leaving, and if I realize that I forgot them, I go back home to look for them, so I can use them at home, on the street, in the transport, at the university, wherever.

I occupy them every day of the week, everyone! However, I am very careful so the headphones last a long time. At the most I must buy two pairs a year, when they break or stop working.

They are my favorite piece of technology because no matter where I am, or what is happening around me, they allow me to concentrate on what I do or prevent me from hearing the annoying noise of the streets. So I can read without problems or just have a quiet trip.

I can't think of what I would do if the headphones didn't exist, I think I would be very stressed all the time, I could only listen to music in my house and I could never isolate myself from the noise ever, IT WOULD BE HORRIBLE!

Blog Session 2: Why did you choose your career?

When I was a child, answering this kind of things was much simpler, even if we were asked every day. I remember that when I was a little girl I wanted to be a ballet dancer and make turns all day, but what I really wanted to be during much of childhood, was a veterinarian. The problem was that I was very afraid of dogs, and when I saw a big dog or a group of dogs together, I was paralyzed (still), so that option did not prosper.

Then, during my years at school, I just didn't know it. I thought about sociology, history, law, forest engineering and architecture.
What do you like so much that you want to do it throughout your life? It seems to me an extremely complex question. So I never knew, not when I was in pre-university, or when the PSU responded.

Finally, I went to the university to study psychology, even without knowing if I wanted to work on it after, but I was sure that psychology was a topic that really interested me to learn, and for which it would be worth the effort.
I wanted to live the present. However, work is difficult for everyone.

Currently, already in the second year of the race, I am really happy with the decision I made. All my bouquets are a very interesting discovery for me and that is enough.

I honestly don't know what I want to work after, but I definitely know that I want to study psychology today.

Blog Session 1: My autobiography, Who Am I?

HELLO!

My name is Magdalena Huenchulaf Rojas and I'm 20 years old.
I was born on November 26, 1999, in the Central Clinic of Santiago of Chile.

My family is made up of my mother Alejandra, my father Misael and my two older brothers, David and Leandro. Although I currently live only with my parents in the commune of San Bernardo, in the same house that has always been our home.

During all my basic education I studied at the Juan Bautista Durán School, in the El Bosque commune, where I met the most important friends of my life, with whom I still share. Then, during my secondary education I studied at the Liceo 7 in Santiago, a municipal school for only womens and very involved in social protests, where I learned, among many important things, about strength and feminism.

It is in this place where my search for vocation begins, the advice of my friends, who always had the subject more clear than me, being of great help. I think they always knew what I would choose, before I knew it myself.

Currently, in addition to being a psychology student at the University of Chile, I enjoy dancing, reading novels and visiting my friends in my free time.

Future studies: I love Italian
